So, what will a Communication Specialist at Terrestris do? You will play a crucial role as a Communication Specialist at the DISA Data Center in Manama, Bahrain. You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to ensure seamless information flow within the center and with external stakeholders. Your duties will include crafting clear and concise messages, managing internal and external communication channels, and coordinating with various teams to disseminate important updates. Additionally, you will be tasked with monitoring and analyzing communication effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement, and adapting strategies to meet the evolving needs of the center. Through your expertise, you will contribute to fostering a well-informed and collaborative environment, enhancing overall communication efficiency at the DISA Data Center.
What does a typical day look like for a Communications Specialist look like? You will:
- • Communicate with Communication Line of Business (LOB) and/or DISA Global Communications.
- • Ensure devices are connected, configured, and passing traffic normally.
- • Assist with annual equipment inventory compliance and accountability review.
- • Recommend or implement resolutions to discrepancies revealed during inspections and audits.
- • Provide guidance and actively contribute to inspections and audits.
- • Contribute to annual planning for COOP.
- • Provide input for documented service agreements related to facility co-use conditions.
- • Engage in disaster recovery planning and submit complete COOP instructions annually.
- • Gather, analyze, store, and share knowledge for technical solutions.
- • Coordinate access management for visiting personnel.
- • Validate visitor identification and ensure visitation documents are complete.
- • Capture Common Access Control information from visitors.
- • Ensure proper badging is provided per process.
- • Notify/coordinate with visitor Point of Contact (POC).
- • Attend visit meetings, provide notes on action items, and perform escort services.
- • Inspect arriving/departing packages according to Government-provided procedures.
- • Act on behalf of DISA to coordinate schedules and facilitate implementation plans with customers.
- • Open and close Collateral Open Storage Areas (COSAs) following security procedures.
- • Attend installation planning meetings and actively engage in discussions.
- • Provide responses as requested during meetings (Teams, video platform, telephone, and in-person).
- • Adhere to ITIL processes, including Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, and Release Management.
- • Provide Incident Management ticket report outlining compliance with assigned timelines.
- • Prepare and update technical documentation, including instructional documents, SOPs, TTPs, and disaster recovery instructions.
- • Develop after-action reports within 24 hours of a DISA Command Center (DCC) reportable event.
- • Provide resource management to ensure qualified personnel perform tasks in accordance with the SOW.
- • Ensure personnel possess required education and experience, including DoD-approved baseline 8570 IA certification.
- • Manage Key Personnel changes and substitutions in accordance with DISA Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DARS) Clause H3 Key Personnel.
What qualifications do you look for? You might be the leader we're looking for if you have:
- U.S. Top Secret-SCI Security Clearance.
- DoDM 8140.03 certification, ADP IT-Level II.
- Two (2) of the past five (5) years of experience in using and implementing commercial communications hardware and electrical standards using communications hardware test.
